Spanning a career of over 5 decades, Joanna Gleason is the recipient of 1 Tony Award, 3 Drama Desk Awards, 1 Outer Critics Circle Award, and the Theatre World Award.
"The Grotto" marks her award-winning first feature as a writer & director. This feature was accepted into 8 different film festivals, winning 4 awards, including “Best Narrative Feature Premiere" and "Best Original Screenplay.” She has also directed a full-length opera and television for both CBS and Lifetime.
In addition to being a sought-after guest teacher for over 30 years, Joanna wrote and performed 2 sold-out shows at 54 Below. She is currently working on a memoir, which will include some of her original artwork as well as archival photos.

Joanna Gleason has appeared in fifteen Broadway and Off-Broadway and Off-off Broadway shows, winning the Tony for Best Actress in a Musical in Stephen Sondheim’s ‘Into The Woods”. She has three Drama Desks, and two Outer Critics’ nominations and wins.
Other Broadway: “Dirty, Rotten Scoundrels” , “Joe Egg” “The Real Thing”, I Love My Wife”, “Nick And Nora”.
Off-Broadway includes shows for The Public Theatre, (The Normal Heart) The Roundabout (Sons Of The Prophet),and Manhattan Theatre Club.

Boogie Nights, Last Vegas, The Skeleton Twins.
